Latest research from a long-term study of the effects of a high protein diet and a low carbohydrate diet as shown an increase in mortality risk.

The study carried out by the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition assessed the diets of 22,944 healthy Greek adults.

Those who consumed the highest protein and the lowest carb’s had a 22% greater risk of death than those who ate the highest carbs and lowest proteins.

It also busted the myth that all Mediterranean diets were healthy. As 80% of Greek men and 75% of Greek women, were either overweight or obese.
